Honey Facial Massage
Not a “facial”. Rather, a holistic massage oriented treatment for the face. This honey facial massage will relax you while lifting your face and spirits through a series of gentle strokes, incorporated Marma points (Ayurvedic reflex/acupressure points) and myofascial techniques. A gentle cleanser is used to clear the skin before organic honey is applied and thoughtfully massaged. Use of warmed towels are incorporated throughout the treatment to clean, moisten, and improve circulation to the face.

Contraindications for Honey Facial Massage-Who should avoid it?
Unfortunately this holistic treatment is not recommended for everyone. Stop and consider if you have any of the following:
rosacea, thyroid gland diseases, scratches, acne, cold sores(herpes viruse), diabetes.
Honey Bee Massage
Organic honey is applied to the back and gently massaged into the tissues. While the honey rests, your feet are reflexed and/or massaged to work out tension in the feet as well as the whole body. Once the Honey has rested, attention is returned to the back and manipulated to open tissues. Warm towels are placed on the back to cleanse away the honey. Once your back is clean, warmed oil is applied to the back, transitioning into the next phase of your massage. Warmed towels are once again applied to clean away residual oil. Ending with a gentle massage on the neck and shoulders.

Honey is composed of sugars such as glucose and fructose and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium, chlorine, sulphur, iron, phosphate and vitamins B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3 as well as amino acids, antioxidants. Honey is anti fungal, anti bacterial and has been used in ancient remedies for thousands of years.

Marma Therapy
Marma in Sanskrit means mortal or vulnerable point. Marma points are located in junctions on the body where two or more types of anatomical tissues intersect. Such as, veins, arteries, muscles, ligaments, bones and joints. Marma therapy utilizes 107 of these anatomical points from the top of the head to the tip of the toes. These points can be thought of as “doorways” within the body to open energy/prana. The mind (or Manas) is considered the 108th Marma point.
In Marma Therapy, stimulation of these points is achieved via light pressure with hands or tools. This results in the removal of blockages at the marma site, the corresponding physical and energetic body. Relaxing the nervous system and allowing for cellular communication.
Marma points, when gently pressed, can stimulate a positive response to the body.
These may include:
Relief from chronic or acute pain, both locally and distally.
Detoxification of the body
Harmonizing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system
Significant improvement in bodily/organ functions, especially immunity, digestive, respiratory, neural & psychological.

Abhyanga
The Sanskrit word Sneha can be translated as both “oil” and “love.”
In Abhyanga nourishing oils are worked along the body in a systematic way to bring the body a sense of love, stability, warmth, and vibrancy.
Abhyanga is a total body treatment, working head to toe. Focusing on balancing the energy’s of the body(Doshas) and nourishing the body’s tissues (Dhatus).

Tactile ASMR
Tactile ASMR is a type of Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Here at Arkaya Shakti we like to refer to this service as the “Feather Massage”. Tactile ASMR is using light and gentle techniques to stimulate a sensory response throughout the body. This triggers feelings of relaxation, airiness, and tingling sensations.
We enjoy using traditional massage techniques like, Swedish massage, Feather strokes, and Aura strokes. In addition to massage we incorporate a plethora of props which include, but not limited to: Feathers, Brushes, Wooden tools, Scalp massagers, and Jade stones.
